Sports art that still feels like a kids room
A lot of sports decor is loud, dark and covered in logos. We went the other way. These are soft, calm paintings of the gear kids actually love: skates, sticks, balls, gloves and goal posts, in the same gentle colours as the rest of our Playroom range.
There are no teams, no logos and no famous players, so nothing goes out of date when your kid switches favourites. It's just the fun of the game, like the skates hanging by their laces in Stick and Puck or the shot into the net in Top Corner.
Why a kids room gets so loud
Kids rooms tend to have hard floors, bare walls and not much soft furniture, plus kids who are playing, bouncing and yelling. All that sound bounces around and the room gets noisy fast. Add a sibling or a couple of friends over and it can feel like a gym.
Our panels absorb some of that sound inside the room, so there's less echo and it feels a bit calmer. A bigger piece does more, so a 3-panel set like Game Day or a full mural is the best fit for a playroom. A single panel is still a nice start over a bed or a reading corner.
Pick a sport, or pick them all
Got a hockey kid? The Pond Hockey mural is four kids in helmets and jerseys playing shinny on a frozen pond at sunset, as Canadian as it gets. Baseball fans get Backyard Diamond, and football fans get Field Goal, with the ball sailing right between the posts.
If your kid plays a bit of everything, Game Day mixes all four sports in one set, so nobody has to pick a favourite. Whatever you pick, hang it securely and out of reach, and keep it away from where kids climb.
Questions people ask
Will acoustic panels soundproof my room?
No, and anyone who says so is stretching it. Acoustic panels absorb sound inside the room, so there's less echo and it sounds softer and calmer. They won't stop noise coming through the walls from the neighbours. For that you need building work, not art.
Are there any team logos or colours on these?
No. Every design is our own art of generic gear, like balls, sticks, skates and nets. No teams, leagues, logos or players, so it suits any fan and won't need replacing when favourites change.
Are these safe for a kids room?
They're wall art, not toys. Hang them securely and out of reach, not above a bed where kids jump or anywhere they can climb to. Check the mounting every so often in a busy room.
