Autumn

Fall colours, harvest moons and still lakes full of reflected maples. Warm autumn art for the season everyone secretly likes best.

Why fall art works so well

Autumn colours are warm by nature. Rust, gold, deep red and a bit of olive green sit nicely with wood floors, leather, wool blankets and most of the furniture people actually own. That makes fall art an easy fit, and it doesn't feel out of place in March either.

In Canada fall is a big deal. People plan weekend drives around peak colour, and the maples do most of the work. Our Maple Hillside mural is that drive, stretched across a whole wall.

Lakes, fields and the harvest moon

Not every fall piece has to be a wall of red leaves. Autumn Lake is calmer: a treeline of maples mirrored in still water, with a little red canoe on the far side. It suits a long wall over a sofa or desk.

The harvest moon is the full moon closest to the fall equinox, and it often looks big and orange as it comes up. Harvest Moon catches it rising over hay bales. For something quieter, Pressed Leaves lines up maple, oak and birch leaves field-guide style.

Cozy, and less echo too

Fall is when we move back inside. Rooms that felt fine with the windows open start to sound loud once everyone's home with the TV on. Every piece here is printed on a sound absorbing panel, so it softens that echo while it warms up the wall.

A good start is the biggest bare wall in the room. If one piece isn't enough, add a single panel across from it. Spreading the art around helps the sound more than bunching it up in one spot.

Questions people ask

Will acoustic panels soundproof my room?

No, and anyone who says so is stretching it. Acoustic panels absorb sound inside the room, so there's less echo and it sounds softer and calmer. They won't stop noise coming through the walls from the neighbours. For that you need building work, not art.

Will fall art look odd the rest of the year?

Not really. Warm oranges and golds work any time, and these are landscapes first, not Halloween decor. Plenty of people leave them up all year.

Which autumn piece suits a smaller room?

Harvest Moon or Pressed Leaves. They're single panels, so they fit over a dresser, a desk or a reading chair without taking over the room.
